Honduras
We arrived in Honduras after several changes on the supposedly 'Direct' bus, the last minibus we caught was supposed to seat 11 and at one point I counted 27, all hanging out the windows, doors etc!!!! Travel in these countries is mad! We spent one night in Chiquimula on the Guatemalan border, another busy uninteresting town.....then crossed into Honduras, to Copan Ruinas! The border crossing officials screwed us over charging us on both the Guatemalan side and the Hondurian even there was a big sign telling tourists NOT to pay Anything!!!!!
Met up with two girls (Audrey - Irish, Janey - Kiwi) who we went to the Copan Ruins with the next day. The Ruins weren't as amazing as I was expecting but still quite cool, but very expensive compared to everything else, they charged us 10 US $ each!!!!

The home of King 18 Rabbit!!!!

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider!!!
We headed on from Copan straight up to the Carribean coast and onto the Bay Islands, we opted to saty at Utila, well known for being the cheapest of the three islands (of course!). We even stocked up in the cheap supermarket on the mainland to take over a weeks supply of rice and beans....we are now officially vegetarian!!! Shopped around everywhere on the island to get the best deal and ended up at Utial watersports who providided free accommodation and 4 free fun dives after paying just 229$ US for our open water dive course!
I am now a fully certified PADI Open Water Diver!!Chris wasn't so keen on the whole underwater experience and only lasted one day of the course...he was far happier chilling out above the water with our very chilled boat skipper (there was definitely a very distinct smell of smoke whenever we came back on the boat!!!!)

We very reluctantly left the Bay Islands after 6 days (.....still keeping ahead of schedule) and began our journey to the Nicaraguan border, having to spend a night in Tegucigalpa on route. This is the capital of Honduras and if you haven“t worked out so far we hate the big cities - so we found a hostel as close to the bus station as possible and hid out in our room before catching a very posh coach the following morning to Nicaragua (air conditioning, dodgy american movies, big comfy seats - and bus driver who tried to rip us off 5$ US at the border, but failed thanks to coach full of bilingual gringos!!!!) .
